Social Justice Task Force
GCAP’s Social Justice Task Force is the Constituency Group of the Communities Discriminated on Work and Descent (CDWD) including modern slavery. The Social Justice Task Force is global advocacy forum for issues of the CDWD. The Global Forum of CDWD (GFoD) convenes the task force, which received the status as Other Stakeholder in the Major Groups and Other Stakeholders process at the UN due to the joint advocacy.
Communities Discriminated on Work and Descent (CDWD) are some of the most excluded, segregated, and discriminated groups at the global and local level within their social, economic, political, and cultural systems.
The consequences of this marginalisation are the deprivation and systematic exclusion from education, health, access to water and sanitation, employment, voting rights, equal access to land and housing, access to religious institutions in the public sphere.
These communities include Haratine (Sahel, West Africa), Bantu (Sudan), Roma (Europe), Burakumin (Japan), Dalits (known as ‘untouchables’) in South Asia, Quilombo and Palenque (South America).

European Roma Grassroots Organisations Network
Europe
ERGO Network is a young and dynamic organisation established in 2008 by a small group of NGOs who shared the observation that everyday realities of Roma communities were hardly taken into account in policy development and implementation. Today we have almost 30 member organisations all over Europe. Founded on the philosophy of active citizenship, shared responsibility and grassroots empowerment, ERGO Network members aim to convince policy makers that positive change for Roma is possible when antigypsyism is recognized and tackled as the root cause for inequality and when Roma can take part in civic life as equal stakeholders.To achieve this, we advocate for better policies and policy implementation on national and European level based on evidence-based research, organise public campaign, build the capacity of Roma activists and provide spaces for networking and mutual learning.

The objectives of CONAQ are to fight for the guaranteed collective use of the territory, for the implementation of sustainable development projects, for the implementation of public policies that take into consideration the quilombo communities’ organisation; for quality education that is coherent with the quilombola way of life; for the autonomy of quilombola women; for the permanence of young people in the quilombo and above all for the common use of the Territory, of the natural resources, and for harmony with the environment.

Global Forum of Communities Discriminated on Work and Descent

The Global Forum of Communities Discriminated on Work and Descent (GFOD) is the global coordination and engagement mechanism for the Stakeholder Group of Communities Discriminated on Work and Descent (SG CDWD). Both were founded in 2021 and formally recognize the core motto of ‘Leave No One Behind’ propounded by Transforming Our World: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which ensures Planet, Peace and Prosperity for all, especially those who are marginalized through generations and suffered social prejudices for life of dignity and peace.
