
Progress and challenges – SDG implementation in Latin America and the Caribbean and the impact of COVID-19 Friday November 5th, 2021
The regional study assesses the progress made and challenges of implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Latin America and the Caribbean and the impact of COVID-19. This regional research paper with contributions from GCAP National Coalition from Argentina, Perú, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua is guided by the Agenda 2030 in its assessment.
The pandemic has fundamentally changed the way we think. In Chapter 1 of the report, the region’s progress in meeting the SDGs prior to the Coronavirus pandemic is examined and contrasted in chapter 2, which looks at the impact the pandemic had on the region.
Chapter 3 presents the scope of the SDGs the scope of the prioritized SDGs in five countries in the region; and, in Chapter 4, we address in chapter 4 discusses the role of different actors in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda.
Finally, we highlight the main conclusions of the study and offer a series of recommendations to GCAP in the framework of its strategic program plan.
