The Global People’s Assembly is part of a bottom-up approach, serving as the culmination of constituency, national, and regional People’s Assemblies, where representatives of marginalized and excluded communities, including women, youth, Communities Discriminated by Work and Descent (CDWD), along with civil society, come together to discuss critical issues of global justice.
This year, the Assembly will amplify these voices at the Summit of the Future and the UN General Assembly. We will address key UN processes, including climate action, debt, tax, Financing for Development, gender equality, and social justice.

Context
The Global People’s Assembly 2024 takes place against the backdrop of a world grappling with multiple interlocking crises. The visionary promises of Agenda 2030, which aimed to address economic, social and climate justice, are at serious risk. According to the United Nations, only 17% of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) will likely be achieved by 2030, highlighting the failure of global systems to respond adequately to urgent challenges. The Global People’s Assembly 2024 seeks to address these systemic global issues.
