  1. To bring together interested civil society organisations, academia, government agencies, development practitioners and individuals to deliberate on social justice situation – with focus on SDG 1.
  2. On the basis of the deliberations, to propose recommendations and share the same with the organisers of the ARFSD 2024 for their information, consideration and use.


The Side Event shall be open to all. Civil society organisations from across Africa and beyond, academia, government agencies, development practitioners and the general public are encouraged to participate.


At the end of the event and on the basis of the discussion topics and views emanating from the event, the side event organisers shall prepare a one-page write-up expressing issues raised and proposed recommendations for sharing with the organisers of the ARFSD.
