GCAP co-organises a side event, titled, “Reinforcing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Agenda 2063 at the Summit of the Future for a Networked and Inclusive Multilateralism” at the Africa Regional Forum on Sustainable Development.

Key Objectives
- From the African perspective, generate recommendations on how key global governance proposals — institutional, legal, normative and operational — to be adopted in the Pact for the Future, Declaration on Future Generations and Global Digital Compact at the Summit of the Future may be implemented through multi-stakeholder Smart Coalitions constituting Member States, civil society, academia, think tanks, foundations, and the private sector to be set up at the UN Civil Society Conference in Nairobi (9-10 May 2024).
- Identify synergies and interlinkages between the AU Agenda 2063, UN SDGs and Our Common Agenda to accelerate their implementation on behalf of the African people and that of the continent at the Summit of the Future.
- Raise awareness on the Summit of the Future and reflect on the collective role of African states, multilateral institutions, and African civil society organizations to make a meaningful contribution to the Summit and its outcomes.
