Global Call to Action against Poverty and Inequality Kenya (GCAP) is a loose coalition of civil society organisation founded in 2005 and shares the vision of GCAP Global. The GCAP Kenya coalition fights the structural determinants and causes of poverty and challenges the institutions and processes that perpetuate poverty and inequality across the world. We work for the defence and promotion of human rights, gender equality and social justice. We are committed to democratizing the values, mechanisms and processes of negotiation and decision making in the interest of the poorest and marginalized people, and to ensuring that equity, human security and inclusion are the core principles around which global, regional and local governance is organized.

GCAP Kenya is an active member and also among the founding members of the SDGs Kenya Forum www.sdgkenyaforum.org that coordinates SDGs Implementation, Monitoring and Review in Kenya. GCAP Kenya previous work on MDGs and the Post 2015 process greatly influenced coalition building among civil society organisations working on similar agenda that greatly inspired the SDGs Kenya Forum coalition.
