GCAP presence in Paris at the COP21

GCAP will be present throughout the COP and we will offer workshops, have strategic meetings and network with other networks and new potential partners for the 2015. Different GCAP representatives will attend the COP negotiations in different capacities and be present throughout the negotiations.

The GCAP workshop headed by Co-Chair Martha Benavides, experienced climate activists Osver Jaime Polo Carrasco from GCAP Peru who brings a lot of experience from the COP15 together with many other GCAPers from across the Globe.

The workshop will take place on Saturday 05.12.15 from 16:30 – 18:30 as part of the Climate Forum Montreuil. The exact address and location can be found in the table below. We would encourage everyone to attend invite people to this event.
A GCAP meeting will take place on Sunday at 5 pm at the Place to B, very close to Gare du Nord, see table below for the full address.

This year marks the deadline for world leaders to reach a new agreement in order to keep global warming below 2°C. Negotiations took place in over the last months and will peak in Paris at the 21st Conference of the Parties, or COP21. The official negotiations take place from November 30th – December 12th. Civil society needs to pressure governments to achieve the already unambitious and insufficient target of 2°C, which is now a greater challenge than ever.
GCAP has also published a statement in solidarity and support in light of the recent terrorist attacks. You can find the statement here. But our mobilisation efforts must continue.

Accredited GCAP representatives will be in Paris and will be able to enter the official negotiations spaces. Since the police has cancelled all marches and manifestations in Paris and all over France as well as the main protests but we have many other events which are going to take place.

Global Climate March28/29.11.15Decentralised actions across the globe. Register or join an action here

The Global Climate March took place on the weekend of the 29th of November.

Thousands were part of the mobilisation efforts! For example, in Dhaka the capital of Bangladesh, marches will be held with the participation of climate victims with a massive human chain across the city.

With the current Action2015 campaign we mobilise thousands of people across the Globe. We want your local action to be seen on the world stage it is vital to have pictures from your actions and email them to: copmobilisation.action2015@gmail.com                                        Your pictures will help us to show the world how many people mobilize and multiply the impact your event has on a world stage.

The Global Climate March is of a global day of action where people across the world march united. It is an important movement to demonstrate the strength of the climate movement and to demand decisive action to stop climate change.

The events listed above are just a small selection of activities. Coordination and planning meeting will take place throughout the COP, please get in touch with johannes.butscher[AT]gcap.global if you wish to receive further information.
