The Global Call to Action Against Poverty (GCAP) along with 70 other civil society organisations launched a campaign for universal social security at the Annual meetings of the IMF and World Bank in October 2023 in Marrakesh.

The 71 organisations like Amnesty International, Oxfam International, the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC) and the Global Coalition for Social Protection Floors signed a document that calls for transformative change to rectify inequalities and the erosion of public services, emphasising the importance of universal and adequate social security systems that leave no one behind. By signing this document, GCAP and its fellow organisations send a resounding message of solidarity, underscoring their unwavering commitment to building a fairer and more sustainable world where social security is accessible to all, regardless of their circumstances.
