Latin America and Caribbean
GCAP Latin America and the Caribbean (GCAP LAC) is active in 5 countries in the region. In March 2019, during a regional civil society meeting in Mexico, a new alliance between GCAP and the regional network Latindadd - Red Latinoamericana por Justicia Económica y Social - was formed. Latindadd is active in 12 countries in Latin America and works mainly on public debt reform/restructuring, fights inequalities and calls for systematic economic, social and environmental reform. The overlapping political priorities have created the basis for great synergy between GCAP and Latindadd. The first collaborative project between GCAP and Latindadd was the elaboration of Inequality Studies in Peru, El Salvador, Guatemala and Nicaragua in March 2020. In 2021 a regional Inequality Study alongside national investigations and People´s Assemblies in Argentina, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Peru counties are ongoing.
